Amy Schumer Was Told To Lose Weight For Hollywood

Actress and comedienne, Amy Schumer was asked to lose weight.

The reason? A Hollywood film role.

Appearing live on The Jonathon Ross Show, the 35-year-old actress and comedienne revealed that she was told to lose weight for her role in ‘Trainwreck’.

“The only change was that it was explained to me before I did that movie that if you weigh over 140 pounds as a woman in Hollywood, if you’re on the screen it will hurt people’s eyes.”

According to Schumer, she succumbed to pressure and dropped a few pounds before filming ‘Trainwreck’. But it looks as though she won’t ever be doing that again.

“I didn’t know that so I lost some weight to do that but never again.”

‘Trainwreck’ starred Amy Schumer as a hard-drinking, promiscuous young writer named Amy who finds herself in her first serious relationship with a sports doctor named Aaron. Her performance even bagged numerous awards, and the film was nominated for two Golden Globe Awards as well as the Writers Guild of America Award for Best Original Screenplay.

Of course, Schumer is known for her rather ruthless comedy routines which regularly poke fun at her own body image and sexual exploits. But when those comments come from a big Hollywood studio, you know they’ve gone a bit too far.

“I think the most painful awful things wind up being funny but I’ve also learnt the hard way that that’s not always true. I don’t shy away from anything just because it’s uncomfortable, I like being uncomfortable.”

Amy Schumer will return to the big screen in 2017 in a currently untitled mother/daughter comedy project alongside Goldie Hawn.

Let’s just hope they don’t make any comments about her weight.
