Angelina Jolie's new movie Maria has confirmed its Netflix US release date.
The film, which sees the actor play opera singer Maria Callas, will drop on the American version of the streaming service on Wednesday, December 11 (via Variety). Before that, it'll get a brief US cinematic release on November 27.
Over in the UK, the film will be released in cinemas by StudioCanal on January 10, but a streaming release date here is yet to be confirmed.

Maria made its premiere at the Venice Film Festival, and received an eight-minute standing ovation which reduced Jolie to tears. A bidding war followed, which the streaming giant won the US distribution rights to.
The reception to the film, which is directed by Jackie and Spencer helmer Pablo Larraín and written by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight, has a lot of critics praising Jolie's performance, and tipping both her and the film itself for awards success.
When the Netflix deal was announced, Larraín said: "It is a creative imagining and psychological portrait of Maria Callas, who, after dedicating her life to performing for audiences around the world, decides finally to find her own voice, her own identity, and sing for herself. I'm deeply honoured to tell this story and share it with audiences worldwide, like Maria did with her life."

Jolie added of her preparation for the role: "I spent almost seven months training because when you work with Pablo you can’t do anything by half. He demands, in the most wonderful way, that you really do the work and you really learn and train.
"My first time singing I remember being so nervous. My sons were there and they helped lock the door so that nobody else was coming in, and I was shaky. Pablo, in his decency, started me in a small room and ended me in La Scala. So he gave me time to grow."
Maria will be released on December 11 on Netflix US, and on January 10 in UK cinemas.
