Angry Birds Hilarious Origin Story Plot Revealed

We’ve learned a little more about the anticipated ‘Angry Birds’ film that hits cinemas next year, and - get this - it’ll be an origin story (of sorts).

According to Empire, the film’s producer, John Cohen, says the animated movie will show us what the birds were like before they became, ahem, angry.

“The question we get asked more than any other is ‘Why are the birds so angry?”, explains Cohen. “This movie is going to be the origin story of how that conflict came to exist.”

It’s great to see the production actually giving audiences what they want - an explanation of how they came to be a collective of hotheaded, feathered miscreants, so will appease fans when it makes its way to cinemas in around eight months time.

Apparently, the birds were a pretty chilled out bunch to begin with, that is until the pigs arrive and all hell precedes to break loose. But it’ll remain a fairly light-hearted affair, with co-directors Clay Kaytis and Fergal Reilly squeezing in several winks to its audience, like a Birds And Bees Fertility Clinic, as well as an Early Bird Worm Shop. This will set up the tone of the film and implies it could be be full of wit and clever nods as per Pixar’s catalogue or last year’s ‘The LEGO Movie’.

The film stars a number of high profile actors that are lending their vocal talents to the production, including: Jason Sudeikis, Peter Dinklage, Bill Hader, Keegan-Michael Key, Josh Gad, Danny McBride, and Maya Rudolph.

A full trailer is expected to (crash)land some time this month.

‘Angry Birds’ is in UK cinemas on 13 May, 2016.
