Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson look set to reunite as the pair have officially signed up to star in the sequel to the 2012 hit musical comedy Pitch Perfect, which is expected to hit cinemas next year.
Kendrick and Wilson, who took on the leading roles of Beca and Fat Amy respectively in the a cappella comedy, are said to have signed deals to appear in the second instalment of the film set for release on May 15, 2015, after the first outing became an unexpected global success.

The Hollwood Reporter previously announced that Elizabeth Banks, who produced and co-starred in the original movie, is set to make her directorial debut with Pitch Perfect 2. Universal Pictures chairman Donna Langley said of Banks' new role: “Elizabeth originated the idea for Pitch Perfect and was instrumental in making the first film such a huge success.
“She brings an enormous amount of energy and experience to everything she works on and we’re thrilled that she is making her feature directorial debut on Pitch Perfect 2.”

Pitch Perfect was a hit at the box office, raking in more than $115 million worldwide meaning a whopping profit on the $17 million budget.
The soundtrack was also a huge smash but even more so for Kendrick, whose single 'Cups' went almost triple platinum with reported combined sales of nearly three million.

Wilson has also gone on to enjoy a stellar career since, starring in Pain & Gain and Super Fun Night as well as filming Night at the Museum and Kung Fu Panda 3.
