Annie Lennox has documented the moment she got her first COVID jab.

The Eurythmics singer shared a video to Instagram of her receiving the Moderna vaccine in a drive-thru vaccination site in Los Angeles.

Sitting in her vehicle at the Dodger Stadium, the 66-year-old began by saying: "It's all very exciting, I'm smiling behind this mask."

A site worker came to administer the vaccine, which is given in two doses, while Lennox remained in her car as she expressed her gratitude.

Lennox amplified her thanks for being able to receive the vaccine in the video's caption as she wrote: "Enormous gratitude to everyone who’s made it possible to deliver the Moderna Covid 19 vaccine...Today at Dodgers Stadium! Thank you!! Muchas Gracias!!!"

The Scotland-born star is one of an ever-growing number of celebrities who have publicly shared their experience of getting a vaccine.

On Wednesday, The Wanted star Tom Parker divulged that he was getting his first jab. It comes as the 32-year-old singer is undergoing treatment for an "inoperable" brain tumour, which he recently said had shrunk "significantly" following chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Meanwhile, Sir Ian McKellen said he was "euphoric" when he received his first dose of the vaccine last month.
