Ant and Dec's DNA Journey stuns viewers as Dec discovers he's related to a wrestling legend

From Digital Spy

Ant and Dec's DNA Journey left fans stunned tonight (November 10) as Declan Donnelly discovered he's related to wrestling legend Dixie Carter.

In the first episode of the two-part documentary, the Geordie duo explain how they'd sent off some of their saliva for DNA testing, hoping to make some surprising discoveries about their ancestry.

And a surprise is certainly what Dec got when he was sent a video of Impact Wrestling president Dixie – who it turns out is his cousin – being power-bombed through a table in the middle of a ring.

Their relation comes from Dec's paternal side of the family, with the two of them sharing a four-times great grandfather.

The relatives were united for the first time as they met in Ireland, and it didn't take long for them to hit it off with each other.

Dec even admitted to Ant afterwards that he felt immediately connected to Dixie, despite the fact they've never met before.

The I'm A Celebrity presenters were then stunned even further when Dixie revealed her family's business raked in an eye-watering $5 billion last year.

For viewers, though, they were mostly amazed to discover that one half of UK TV's most treasured double act is related to a major figure in the wrestling world.

Ant and Dec’s DNA Journey airs its second part tomorrow at 9pm on ITV.
