Ant McPartlin is reportedly on lockdown in his London home as he undergoes his second round of rehab.

The ITV star is thought to have had only limited contact with presenting partner Declan Donnelly since his arrest for ‘drink-driving’ on Sunday, with his parents being the only people allowed to visit him.

Donnelly is due to have ‘crunch talks’ with ITV on Wednesday to decide the fate of the final episodes of Saturday Night Takeaway, without McPartlin.

“Ant is now out of things professionally, completely cut off from everything. He’s checked out,” a source told The Sun.

“His mum Christine is still at the house as she lives there too and Dec is in touch by phone — but purely as his best friend. They aren’t talking about work.”

The insider added: “Ant is very ill and it would be unfair to involve him in very difficult discussions about the TV shows while so much else is going on.”

McPartlin is currently holed up in his £1.6 million west London home, where he is expected to start his round of treatment.

The Britain’s Got Talent host was involved in a collision with two other cars while he was driving his Mini in Richmond, west London, and was arrested at around 4pm on Sunday after failing a roadside breathalyser test.

A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said he was "taken to a south London police station for questioning and has since been released under investigation" and that inquiries continue.

Police previously confirmed that a number of individuals were treated at the scene for minor injuries, and a child passenger from one of the cars was taken to hospital to be checked as a precaution.

A spokesperson for the star said that he would be cancelling all work commitments for the “foreseeable future”.
