At the Warner Bros. Television panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Monday (June 25), fans of The CW's Arrow were given a hint at things to come in season seven.

Releasing the season synopsis, Warner Bros. didn't make any huge reveals, but managed to give away enough to get fans talking.

At the end of season six, we saw Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) being forced to reveal his identity as the Green Arrow to the world before he was taken to Slabside Maximum Security Prison.

Now behind bars, season seven will find Oliver having to deal with many of the criminals he helped place there.

But the biggest tease from the synopsis hinted at a new villain, who poses a huge threat to Oliver's future.

The synopsis reveals that 'Oliver will find himself vulnerable in a way unlike ever before when a mysterious new enemy begins to unravel his work as Green Arrow, challenging him to redeem his name or risk losing everything.'

While it all sounds very exciting, there is one major element from the Arrow comic books that we already know will be making an appearance in the forthcoming season - Oliver Queen's classic goatee.

Speaking at the Motor City Comic Con last month, Amell revealed that the goatee will finally get its small-screen debut.

" In season seven, I am going to debut the goatee," the actor confirmed.

"I can't promise that I'm going to keep [the goatee] forever. I can definitely promise that I'm not going to wear the stupid hat."

Arrow airs on The CW in the US.
