Verne Troyer has been hospitalised for his addiction to alcohol, according to reports.

TMZ revealed that the star of the ‘Austin Powers’ movies has been in hospital in the San Fernando Valley in California for two weeks.

He’ll then be transferred to a rehabilitation facility once he’s been discharged.

“With your support, I got this,” he told fans.

Sadly, it’s not the first time that Troyer has struggled with alcohol abuse, with reports that he almost died from alcohol poisoning in 2002.

He’s also checked into rehab on multiple occasions.

Troyer’s breakthrough role was in the sequel ‘Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me’ in 1999, though he’d appeared in movies like ‘Men In Black’, ‘Jingle All The Way’ and ‘Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas’ prior to that.

He also appeared in the final Powers movie ‘Goldmember’, ‘The Love Guru’, also with Mike Myers, ‘The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, and played Griphook – voiced by Warwick Davis – in ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’.
