Avatar's Sam Worthington lands next movie role
Avatar star Sam Worthington has landed his next movie role, staring alongside Sound of Metal actor Riz Ahmed and Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again star Lily James.
According to Deadline, the actor will join the pair in upcoming thriller Relay, with production already underway in New York and New Jersey.
Details regarding Worthington's character are currently being kept under wraps, but the film follows the story of Ash (Ahmed), a 'fixer' who brokers lucrative payoffs between corrupt companies and the individuals who threaten to expose them.
Ash keeps his identity a secret through meticulous planning and remaining in the shadows, however his world is threatened when a new client Sarah (James) shows up needing his protection to stay alive.

The film is being directed by Hell or High Water's David Mackenzie, who has co-written the script alongside Justin Piasecki.
Worthington is best known for the role of Jake Sully in James Cameron's Avatar franchise, with recent outing Avatar: The Way of Water grossing over $2billion worldwide.
The actor can currently be seen in true-crime thriller Under the Banner of Heaven alongside Spider-Man star Andrew Garfield and Normal People's Daisy Edgar-Jones.

Worthington recently opened up on his failed audition for the role of James Bond, telling Variety that he had "no idea" what he was doing during his screen test.
"I could play Bond as a killer, but I couldn’t get the debonair down for the life of me," he said, adding that he was told he wasn't a good fit for the role.
"The suit did not fit. I had no idea what I was doing."
