Don’t expect a title for ‘Avengers 4’ anytime soon…

Not if Kevin Feige can help it.

It turns out that the title for ‘Avengers 4’ is a massive spoiler for what happens in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ – the climactic superhero ensemble which is about brings together all corners of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

During an interview with CinemaBlend, Marvel boss Kevin Feige briefly addressed how ‘Infinity War’ and ‘Avengers 4’ are connected… and it seems they’re now entirely different.

“They’re two very different movies,” he said. “That’s all I’ll say.”

Of course, this comes as a bit of a shock.

Originally, ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ was intended to be a two-part event movie, with the film we now know as ‘Avengers 4’ to be ‘Infinity War: Part Two’. But now it looks as though the plans have changed dramatically…

Especially when it comes to their titles.

Asked if the lack of subtitle for ‘Avengers 4’ had anything to do with potential spoilers for ‘Infinity War’, Kevin Feige couldn’t have been clearer:

“Yeah,” he said. “For sure.”

But what does that mean?

Until now, Marvel has been fairly open about its upcoming movies, even teasing ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ long before the film went into production. But now, it seems Marvel is keeping its cards close to its chest. And that’s likely because of what happens in ‘Infinity War’.

It’s no secret that everything in the MCU has been building towards ‘Infinity War’. Ever since the appearance of the first Infinity Stone in ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ it’s been obvious that Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet is the end game.

We’ve seen the Infinity Stones appear throughout the MCU…

But what happens once Thanos is dealt with?

Thankfully, we won’t have to wait too long to find out, as ‘Avengers 4’ is slated to appear in cinemas just one year after ‘Infinity War’, on 3 May 2019. Until then, we can only speculate. But it sounds as though big things are coming.

‘Avengers: Infinity War’ stars Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Holland, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bethany, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Benedict Wong, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Pom Klementieff, and Josh Brolin.

Joe and Anthony Russo will direct the film, based on a script by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.

‘Avengers: Infinity War’ heads to cinemas on 27 April 2018.
