This weekend marked the one-year anniversary of Avengers: Endgame’s record-breaking release.

The success of the blockbuster has been well-documented, as it grossed the truly incredible sum of £970 million ($1.2 billion) during its opening weekend alone, before ultimately going to make £2.26 billion ($2.797 billion) across the world, making it the highest grossing movie of all time.

The full extent of Avengers: Endgame’s success has now been revealed, with Deadline reporting that the blockbuster ended up making £727 million ($900 million) in profit.

This was much more than the earlier estimates, as Endgame was expected to make Disney anywhere between £485 million ($600 million) and £525 million ($650 million). Infinity War had previously made half a billion dollars for the studio the year before.

But while Disney were obviously overjoyed with the stupendous amount of money that Endgame made for them, they were more than happy to share the wealth with the actors that have helped the Marvel Cinematic Universe become such a powerful pop culture commodity.

Robert Downey Jr was paid £45 million ($55 million) in back-end profits for Endgame alone, while he was also give £16 million ($20 million) upfront for his final performance as Iron Man. This means that Downey has now made somewhere around £222 million ($275 million) from his time in the MCU.

The other Marvel actors didn’t fare poorly from the film, too, as they received box office bonuses, with Deadline reporting that they ultimately shared out £141 million ($175 million) to the likes of Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Paul Rudd and the rest of the Avengers gang.
