WARNING: There are MAJOR SPOILERS ahead for Avengers: Endgame. So if you’re yet to see the mega blockbuster then please don’t read ahead.

The ultimate piece of behind the scenes footage from Avengers: Endgame has dropped online, which shows Robert Downey Jr filming the already iconic snap from its climax.

Kudos to Jimmy Rich, who just so happens to be Robert Downey Jr’s assistant, for uploading the video of the Oscar nominated actor going all in on his line reading of, “I am Iron Man.”

Of course, this was in response to Thanos declaring, “I am inevitable,” after he had finally got hold of the Infinity Gauntlet, only for him to discover that Tony Stark had taken all of the Infinity Stones out and put them into his newly made Iron Man Gauntlet.

By doing this, though, Stark succumbed to the power of the snap, but did save the galaxy in the process.

Rather surprisingly, this moment was actually the last thing that the Russo Brothers shot during the Endgame reshoots back in January. As the above footage shows, it was completed in a rather intimate setting in Hollywood’s Raleigh Studios rather than Atlanta, where most of the MCU has been filmed.

“Tony used to not say anything in that moment,” the directors admitted during a post Q&A screening back in DC back in May. “And we were in the editing room going, ‘He has to say something. This a character who has lived and died by quips.’ And we just couldn’t, we tried a million different last lines.”

“Thanos was saying ‘I am inevitable.’ And our editor Jeff Ford, who’s been with us all four movies and is an amazing storyteller, said, ‘Why don’t we just go full circle with it and say, I am Iron Man.’ And we’re like, ‘Get the cameras! We have to shoot this tomorrow.’”
