'Avengers: Endgame' will come out earlier in the UK after all

Sorry America… it appears that Avengers: Endgame will land the UK before the US after all.

The final chapter in the Avengers story was thought to be making its debut at the same time as the US release date of April 26, after the US pulled back a planned May 3 premiere to bring it in line with the UK.

But according to Comscore Movies, the official release date is now April 25, a solid 24-hours before it bows in the US, a move likely to send US Marvel fans apoplectic with jealousy.

Marvel movies in the UK have nearly always been released just ahead of the US, ever since Iron Man 2 back in 2010.

So us lucky folk on this side of the pond will see what Thor, Iron Man, Black Widow and The Hulk have in store for Thanos, following the mass devastation of Avengers: Infinity War.

Thus far, Marvel has been pretty coy with details, releasing just one major trailer, an introspective affair in which Tony Stark beams a message to Pepper Potts as he runs out of oxygen in space, and the remaining Avengers lick their wounds.

But still, it racked up a staggering 289 million views in a single day.

So it’s official. Avengers: Endgame lands on April 25, preceded by Captain Marvel on March 8.
