Avengers fan in China taken to hospital after becoming hysterical during 'Endgame' screening

An avid Marvel fan attending a screening of Avengers: Endgame in China over the weekend had to be rushed to hospital after becoming hysterical.

The cinema-goer, 21-year-old Xiaoli from Ningbo, according to local news reports, began sobbing uncontrollably during the movie.

She soon began to hyperventilate and experience trouble breathing, after which she was then taken to the emergency room.

The International News reports that she was given oxygen, and soon began to calm.

“I saw that the patient had been breathing heavily, and according to the description from her peers, we thought that she her crying had caused hyperventilation,” an ER doctor told the paper.

“We immediately gave her oxygen and relaxed her emotions by appeasement, reducing her hyperventilation symptoms.”

Makers of the movie have been at pains to encourage fans to keep the events of the film a secret to avoid letting others know what happens in the climactic final episode in the Avengers series.

Directors the Russo brothers issued a final plea on Friday as the film made its official bow in the US.

So far, it’s smashed box office records, making a staggering $1.2 billion worldwide over an extended opening weekend.
