Great Scott! Doc Brown’s ad fools people around the world.

2015, the future date Marty McFly and Doc Brown visit in ‘Back To The Future II’, is less than 10 months away and we’re still no closer to having hover boards like the ones seen in the film.

Unless, of course, you happen to believe the team at HUVr, who have set up a website claiming to have created the future tech which will allows people to float on air.

Christopher Lloyd, who plays crazy inventor Doc Brown in the ‘Back To The Future’ trilogy, features in one of the two informercial-style videos posted on the site, which have since racked up millions of views apiece.

Billy Zane, pro skateboarder Tony Hawk, and musician Moby were also drafted in to add authenticity to the videos which you can watch above, showing people zooming around a carpark on the boards.

Many people seem to have fallen for the elaborate ruse, posting comments of YouTube asking questions like “Are hover boards actually coming?” and “Is this real?”

We’d love it to be true, but despite the elaborate special effects deployed to execute the spoof, you can clearly see the shadows of cranes used to create the effect of skating on the hover boards.

Even if we don’t get hover boards in time for the 30th anniversary of ‘Back To The Future II’, Nike has promised that we will get the self-lacing trainers that Marty McFly wears by next year.
