Will Smith wants to remind you that, yes, Bad Boys 3 is still a thing that exists – it is so real, in fact, that there's even an official title to prove it now!

The sequel has been in various stages of development for the past 15 years, and although some pessimistic fans probably assumed it'd never see the light of day, the Fresh Prince proved them wrong in his latest Instagram post.

Day 1. I’ll keep y’all posted

Will shared a photo from the set of the officially-titled Bad Boys For Lif3, cheekily adding: "Day 1. I’ll keep y’all posted."

Look, at least they managed to stick a 3 in there somewhere because otherwise we'd have to question if they were jumping the gun on the obvious Bad Boys 4 Life name for a fourth film down the line.

The buddy action-adventure blockbuster rapidly picked up steam in the last few months, after Martin Lawrence announced on Instagram last November that he'd officially signed on to reunite with Smith.

Soon after, Some Girls' Jacob Scipio signed up for Bad Boys For Lif3 as the main villain - a cold-blooded killer and head of a drug cartel sent by his mother to murder Smith's Mike Lowrey.

Lowrey and his partner Marcus Burnett on the Miami police force will have some back-up from Mexican actress Paola Nuñez as the new head of the AMMO division. Also joining the cast will be High School Musical's Vanessa Hudgens and Joe Pantoliano, reprising his role as Captain Howard.

Bad Boys For Lif3 is scheduled to hit cinemas on January 17, 2020.
