Bad Boys: Ride or Die has received a first load of online reactions ahead of its theatrical arrival next month.

This is the fourth entry in the Bad Boys franchise, which follows two detectives played by Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. In Ride or Die, detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett investigate corruption in the Miami PD after Joe Pantoliano's Captain Conrad Howard is posthumously accused of consorting with the cartel.

Over on social media, fans lucky enough to attend a special preview screening this week have been sharing their thoughts on the blockbuster, and it sounds promising.

"Just saw @BadBoys Ride or Die! The action is just as good as you'd expect, and it might be the funniest yet? Biggest applause(s) in my screening went to Dennis Greene as Reggie for reasons I'll let you see for yourselves! No prior Bad Boys knowledge needed to have fun!" read one of the reviews.

Another impressed viewer added: "Oh girrrrrrrl, this was a FUN WATCH!! The #BadBoys agenda is alive & well, long & strong.

"It feels good to have FUN movies in theaters, ya know? It has its serious moments when it needs to but its overall goal is to ENTERTAIN. Bring some escapism.. Cant wait to see it again!"

Further along, a third Ride or Die viewer described the experience as "a total blast" and commended directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah for tapping into the "strong emotional core of this series without sacrificing any of its insane fun".

Smith and Lawrence's performances were celebrated, too. This fan was particularly taken by their ability to still bust "each other's balls" on an epic scale.

"Adil & Bilall's action sequences are loaded with inventive staging and camerawork," they also mentioned.

Bad Boys: Ride or Die comes to UK cinemas on June 5 and US cinemas two days later.
