Beauty Booking Appointment Company Planity Raises 45 Million Euros

PARIS — Planity, France’s leading beauty booking appointment company, has raised 45 million euros in Series C funding.

The financing round was led by French fund InfraVia Capital Partners with Planity’s longstanding shareholders Crédit Mutuel Innovation, Revaia and Bpifrance Digital Ventures.

The financial backing is intended to develop Planity into the European leader in its field during the course of this year. The company expects to recruit 300 new employees and integrate conversational artificial intelligence to manage calls and make appointments by telephone, as well as to allow its customers to collect bank card payments using their mobile phones.

Planity also could make acquisitions and invest in new verticals, including the well-being and fitness categories, by offering the possibility of booking group classes.

Tele-beauty and -derm booking services have taken off, especially since the pandemic, and have therefore been alluring to investors. In 2022, for instance, Beiersdorf AG said it was investing in Dermanostic, a start-up for digital dermatological appointments.

Planity, which was founded in 2017 by Antoine Puymirat and his partners Jérémy Queroy and Paul Vonderscher, quickly became the leader in France and now equips 35 percent of the country’s beauty establishments. Today, it ranks second in Germany and Belgium a year-and-a-half after launch there.

Puymirat in a statement called the new fundraise “a pivotal phase in our history. Having secured a leading position in France and quickly established significant presence on the German and Belgium markets, we will focus on replicating our national successes there.”

“The model developed by Planity and effectively implemented in three countries corresponds to a strong trend in the sector on a global scale,” said Guillaume Santamaria, a partner at InfraVia Capital Partners. “The company’s managers and their teams can therefore legitimately have great ambitions.”

Monthly, more than 10 million appointments are made in hairdressing and beauty salons through Planity. After one year of using the service, salons generate a 16 percent sales increase, due in part to new clients signing on and fewer missed appointments, according to the company.

Planity in 2021 raised 30 million euros, which allowed it to recruit a few hundred new employees. More than 40,000 establishments use its platform, including 2,000 in Germany and 1,000 in Belgium. Altogether, the business has had 95 million euros in funding since its start.

In 2023, Planity generated 40 million euros in sales, up 60 percent versus 2022.

The group plans to invest in Southern Europe beginning in 2025.
