Behind Her Eyes was filled with clues teasing the outrageous twist.

The six-part series, which is currently the most-watched title on the streaming service, has been shocking viewers with its conclusion since it was released last week.

While many viewers were unable to predict quite the direction the show was headed, others are highlighting the small details they noticed that hinted at the plot developments to come.

Behind Her Eyes, an adaptation of the 2017 book of the same name, follows single mother Louise as she embarks on an affair with her boss, psychologist David, after meeting him at a bar.

At the same time, she strikes up a friendship with David’s wife, Adele, who has struggled with mental illness. Adele teaches Louise, who suffers from night terrors, how to “astral project” – send her consciousness to somewhere else (in this case a nicer dream).

The series includes a number of flashbacks that show Adele in a mental institution with her friend Rob, who is gay.

The twist goes that Adele is not actually Adele. Adele is Rob, who managed to switch bodies with Adele using astral projection and then take over her life – including her husband, David. He murdered the real Adele, who was trapped in his old body, then posed as her and pretended he had died from a heroin overdose.

After watching the series, many viewers have praised the ending, with one calling it “phenomenal”. Other weren’t so convinced, and felt it to be too left-field to work effectively.

However, when one viewer asked fellow Twitter users whether they had spotted any clues, many responded with the ones they picked up on.

As highlighted by Twitter user @adiorx2, one scene shows Adele cooking, which could be a reference to the fact that Rob was a chef.

Also, another moment shows Adele, waiting for David, standing in a similar position to the way Rob stood when he had first met David.

Love or hate the show, the twist certainly gives it some re-watchability.
