Now THIS is how you dress for an awards show.

Ryan Reynolds has been named the Hasty Pudding Theatricals Man of the Year, an award given out annually by the Harvard University society to performers who have made a “lasting and impressive contribution to the world of entertainment.”

Traditionally a very light-hearted event – famously when Helen Mirren was named Woman of the Year in 2014, the national treasure was persuaded to twerk on stage – it’s small wonder that Reynolds, still hot in Hollywood after the success of ‘Deadpool,’ would also get into the spirit of things.

As such, the 40-year old Canadian actor happily accepted his award whilst wearing a custom made Deadpool bra – over his tuxedo, alas.

On top of this, the roast saw Reynolds presented with an actual green lantern, which he smashed onstage; the actor was also coerced into performing a lapdance on an actor apparently meant to be dressed up like his wife Blake Lively, although you’ll be forgiven for not seeing the resemblance there.

On the subject of Blake Lively, Reynolds was naturally asked who was the better kisser between his wife and Andrew Garfield, with whom he notoriously locked lips after missing out on the Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy award at January’s Golden Globes.

Reynolds naturally chose his wife, but praised Garfield as “a wonderful kisser… Very generous. A real dating tongue.”

All this tomfoolery should hopefully be little more than a warm-up for what we can expect from Reynolds in the ‘Deadpool’ sequel, expected to go before cameras in the near future ahead of an early 2018 release.

Before that, we’ll see Reynolds share the screen with Jake Gyllenhaal and Rebecca Ferguson in sci-fi thriller ‘Life,’ in cinemas 24 March; watch the new Superbowl trailer below.
