Bella Hadid has returned to Instagram after a brief hiatus, which she has disclosed was to focus on and improve her mental health.

In a lengthy caption accompanying a montage of photos, the model recently shared with her 37.8 million followers that she had taken some personal time away from social media to focus on herself.

The 24-year-old said that explaining the full reasons for her absence would 'be too much to explain at the moment' but told fans that, with time, she will expand on her experiences over the past few weeks in more detail.

It appears as though Hadid had left her home temporarily to seek some respite during which time she focussed on reading self-help books, spending time outdoors, horse riding and spending quality time with some friends.

'I took some time away to reflect and learn about myself in a way that would be too much to explain at the moment , but with time I will express. The memories and fortune I came back with are pure wisdom, a closer relationship with myself and my spirituality, a sense of self-love that I have always lacked,' Hadid wrote candidly.

Prior to this post on Thursday (January 21), Hadid had not been active on Instagram for over two weeks since January 5, when she posted three photos to her grid.

'I found myself, my strength and my light again. I am only here to be an instrument of peace and love to help people that suffer and hopefully the world, in time,' Hadid continued in her caption before thanking those close to her for supporting and 'saving' her during what appears to have been a difficult time.

Reflecting on her learnings, Hadid encouraged her followers to reach out for mental health support if they need it: 'Take time to get help for your mental health. It’s worth it to get to your full potential.'
