Ben Affleck and Patrick Dempsey to star in the US Love Actually 'sequel'
The British ‘Love Actually’ sequel – made for Comic Relief – managed to round up most of the stars of Richard Curtis’s original movie, but the US version is going one better.
It’s not only bringing back Laura Linney, who played Sarah in the movie, who was in love with Rodrigo Santoro’s Carl, but a couple of other recognisable faces too.
Namely, according to People magazine, Ben Affleck and Patrick Dempsey.
Why they’re involved – they weren’t in the original movie, of course – is not known as yet, but it will add some additional star quality to the production, being made for the US Red Nose Day, being broadcast on NBC.
The short will also feature the scenes filmed by the stars who returned for the UK’s version, including Hugh Grant, Liam Neeson, Colin Firth, Andrew Lincoln, Keira Knightley, Bill Nighy, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Rowan Atkinson.

And as with the UK’s version, Curtis’s partner Emma Freud is doing a sterling job in publicising the shoot, dropping some footage of Mr Dempsey on set, and also the poster.
