Ben Affleck Regrets Starring In Daredevil

It’s no secret that ‘Batman V Superman’ isn’t Ben Affleck’s first comic book movie after all, he starred in the critically-panned ‘Daredevil’ movie. And it seems he’s really not proud of that.

In an interview with NPR, the 42-year-old Batman revealed that he has some regrets when it comes to suiting up as Marvel’s Man Without Fear.

“Indeed I have regrets about Daredevil,” he said. “I have regrets about all the movies that I don’t think were executed properly… Look, if I thought we were remaking Daredevil, I’d be out there picketing myself… and that goes for other movies as well that I haven’t been happy with.”

“You know, I’m hard on myself and I have exacting standards,” he added. “I want to do excellent work and I don’t always succeed, but I think you have to start out with that drive.”

Although Marvel’s ‘Daredevil’ didn’t exactly do well, you have to admit – perhaps his heart was in the right place. After all, Ben Affleck is a massive comic book fan himself. And given the chance to star as a Marvel superhero, you can hardly blame him for saying ‘yes’.

But will his appearance in ‘Batman V Superman’ be any better? I get the feeling this role is far more suited to him and it seems he’s a lot more confident this time around.

“[Batman] was written by Chris Terrio, who wrote Argo, who’s not a comic guy,” he said. “It’s directed by Zach Snyder, who’s an incredibly magical sort of visual stylist who’s steeped in the comic world. And you have this sandwich of talents. I felt very confident about it… I thought it would be nice to make one of these movies really, really good.”

Of course, whether or not ‘Batman V Superman’ turns out to be any good is another matter entirely… and we’ll have to wait until 2016 to find out. But will it be better than ‘Daredevil’? I think we can all agree that much is a given.
