Yahoo Movies Ben Affleck Reportedly Tried And Failed To Win Jennifer Garner Back
Bennifer almost made a comeback, an extensive new report from Us Weekly has it. It even got to the point where Ben Affleck was begging Jennifer Garner to come back to him, albeit too late. The drama!
Apparently the couple spent almost two years trying to save their marriage after announcing their separation in 2015. Garner, particularly, really fought for it. 'She put her heart and soul into fixing the relationship and wanted so desperately to turn things around for the children's sake as well as theirs,' a friend of Garner's told Us. 'She forgave him for so much, and still he couldn't change.'
They ultimately filed for divorce in April 2017, but Affleck didn't give up. 'He's begged her to come back several times, but she has no interest.' Another source close to the couple cautioned that Affleck, now very publicly with Lindsay Shookus, isn't 'looking back. When they filed and decided they were moving on, that was it.'
They were apparently closest to reconciliation when Affleck entered rehab for alcohol addiction late last year. 'When Ben was in rehab, Jennifer was there every day, visiting,' a source said. 'They did family counseling to work on their relationship. Things looked positive. Jennifer was very caring, very present. They both wanted it to work.'
But it ultimately failed for a 'number of reasons,' including the fact Affleck's struggles were aways going to be there. Now Affleck is in love and taking his relationship with Shookus very seriously, a source said. And Garner is dating now, too-a recent development, Us Weekly notes. 'Jen is ready to go with her feelings and give love another try,' the source said. '[It's] no exaggeration to say that Ben broke her heart and left her in a terrible place emotionally. [But] it's been almost three years since they called it quits. It's time for her to move on.'
