Ben Mendelsohn to Join Star Wars Spinoff ‘Rogue One’?

May the force be with Ben Mendelsohn?

Sources tell Variety the “Bloodline” star has met for one of the lead roles in Disney and Lucasfilm’s Star Wars spinoff “Rogue One.” The pic stars “Theory of Everything” actress Felicity Jones.

It’s unknown whether Mendelsohn has received an offer but the Australian actor is someone execs are seriously considering for the film.

Garreth Edwards (“Godzilla”) will the Star Wars spinoff with plot details still under wraps.

“Rogue One” will hit theaters on Dec. 16, 2016.

After strong supporting turns in pics like “Animal Kingdom” and “Killing Them Softly,” Mendelsohn has recently shown his chops as a leading man with his critically acclaimed performance as Jack O’Connell’s father in the prison drama “Starred UP” as well as opposite Ryan Reynolds in “Mississippi Grind,” which recently premiered at Sundance.

He is repped by CAA and United Agents.
