Fans of Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas will have to wait a little longer for Illumination and Universal’s remake as the studio has announced the film’s release will be pushed back to 2018.

Originally set to bow on Nov. 10, 2017, Universal has now announced that the film will open on Nov. 9, 2018.

Universal announced at this year’s CinemaCon that Benedict Cumberbatch would be voicing the iconic character with Pete Candeland and Yarrow Cheney directing the holiday favorite.

The original children’s book tells the tale of the titular grouch who plots to ruin Christmas for the residents of his neighboring village of Whoville.

Michael LeSieur is adapting the script with Chris Meledandri, Janet Healy and Scott Mosier producing. Audrey Geisel and Chris Renaud exec produce.
