The best behind-the-scenes photos from the 2024 Oscars
From a gold-plated Godzilla and a proud Robert Downey Jr, to stars tucking into pizza and burgers at the after party, it was all happening at the 2024 Oscars.
The 2024 Oscars may have been won by Oppenheimer, Ken and John Cena's chiselled pecs, but that was just the tip of the iceberg when it came to the memorable moments of the night, including Steven Spielberg snapping his In-N-Out burger at the Vanity Fair afterparty.
Topping the bill was British filmmaker Christopher Nolan, who ended his 22-year wait for an Academy Award. Nolan was first nominated back in 2002, for best original screenplay for Memento, and again in 2011 in the same category for Inception, but on both occasions he came away empty-handed.
In 2018 he was nominated for best director for Dunkirk, but once more walked away with nothing. This year he finally triumphed, being named best director for Oppenheimer.
Nolan seemed to be having the time of his life on his big night, and was tickled pink when he came face to face with fellow Oscar-winner Takashi Yamazaki who was holding a gold Godzilla alongside his own Best Visual Effects Oscar for his work on Godzilla Minus One.
It was the Godzilla's first ever Oscar win in the franchise's 70-year history, and the kaiju had been brought up on stage to celebrate the momentous occasion.
Robert Downey Jr, who had earlier won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor celebrated his own big night —his first ever Academy Award win — at the Governors Ball after the ceremony, posing with the trophy pressed to his face.
Elsewhere at the Oscars after parties, Hollywood tucked into some much-needed sustenance after the long ceremony that was held at the Dolby Theater.
Steven Spielberg took the time to document his In-N-Out burger at the star-studded Vanity Fair party, while other stars proudly posed with their patties as they tucked in.
Wall Street star Michael Douglas proved that greed is not only good, but necessary after a long night, queuing up for a pizza served by celebrity chef Evan Funke at the same party.
Beyond the food, it seemed like most of Hollywood was just happy to let their hair down after a long awards season.
One person who seemed particularly thrilled to be included in the party was Billie Eilish. The pop star was celebrating her second Oscar after winning Best Original Song for Barbie.
She previously won in 2022 for her James Bond theme song No Time to Die, but this was her first win after reaching California's statutory drinking age of 21. She was photographed partying with rapper Flavor Flav who gifted the singer her own custom clock necklace.
