Biel wants April O'Neil role

'A Team' actress says she's up for playing Mutant Ninja Turtle's journalist sidekick

Jessica Biel could be lining herself up for a role in the forthcoming 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' reboot, according to reports.

The 'A Team' actress has revealed a love of the turtles' plucky journalist friend and sidekick April O'Neil from the classic 90s cartoon series.

“I dig the Ninja Turtles. I always liked the Ninja Turtles,” she told Collider.

“I dig April, she's cool. She wore a yellow suit and she was a redhead. That was a great show, I loved it as a kid so sure! Yeah!”

'Transformers' filmmaker Michael Bay is producing the new film in the series, but it's already infuriated fans after Bay suggested changing the turtles to being 'lovable aliens' rather than creatures mutated by radioactive goo.

He then took time to ask them to 'take a breath, and chill', saying: “They have not read the script. Our team is working closely with one of the original creators of Ninja Turtles to help expand and give a more complex back story.

“Relax, we are including everything that made you become fans in the first place. We are just building a richer world.”

The film reportedly has a budget of $100 million (£64 million) and is due out in December 2013.
