Billy Crystal marked his 75th birthday by recreating one of his iconic looks from his 1989 romantic comedy When Harry Met Sally.

The actor took to Twitter on Tuesday to celebrate the milestone and shared two photos, a recent snap of him wearing a white cable-knit sweater, blue jeans and white sneakers, and an image of him from yesteryear wearing the same outfit in When Harry Met Sally.

Crystal simply captioned the post: “Thank you all.”

Soon after sharing the post, the comedian was inundated with comments from friends wishing him a happy birthday while several fans paid homage to his iconic white cable knit jumper.

Friend and comedian Richard Lewis penned: “Finally, you’re my age. You’re a blessed artist. I’m proud to have started our comedic journey together. I started reading your accomplishments 17 weeks ago and I’m just about halfway done.

“Far and away your greatest success is your wondrous family. Love from the Lewises.”

“Lots of love and respect,” commented actor Ben Stiller.

While another social media user shared: “Favorite movie, ever! Happy Birthday, Billy! Thank you for all the warmth and laughs.”

“happy birthday billy crystal,” a fan penned alongside a photo of themselves paying tribute to the star clad in a matching outfit.

A third follower added: “Obviously better to look good than to feel good! HBD!”

It wasn’t only friends and fans sharing their congrats but also Merriam-Webster dictionary, who branded him an “icon” in a tweet.

They replied: “icon | noun | a person or thing widely admired especially for having great influence or significance in a particular sweater.”
