It looks like Black Panther star Michael B Jordan's next film is skipping the box office and going straight to Amazon Prime Video.

The actor played the villainous Erik Killmonger in the Marvel film and before the coronavirus pandemic lockdown, filmed a movie titled Without Remorse.

Based on a Tom Clancy novel, Without Remorse stars Jordan as former Navy SEAL turned director of an elite counterterrorism unit, John Clark — who tries to avenge his wife's murder.

Clark, who has ties with another of Clancy's other renowned literary creations Jack Ryan, has previously been played onscreen by Liev Schreiber and Willem Defoe.

And, it looks like Jordan's Clark could be going to streaming.

Variety reports the production company Paramount has started talks with Amazon to sell Without Remorse to the streamer and have the film premiere on Amazon Prime this summer.

Directed by Stefano Sollima, Without Remorse also stars Cam Gigandet, Jodie Turner-Smith, Jamie Bell and Luke Mitchell.

The news follows Jordan recently launching his #ChangeHollywood initiative, which will aim to improve diversity and inclusion in the entertainment industry.

It also follows his call for film studios to "invest in Black staff".

He said: "A great agent doesn’t have to be a great organiser, but a great agent could advocate for relationships with organisers.

"What we are doing today will make our values heard and our voices heard. We've got to keep agitating things. We can't be complacent. We can't let this moment just pass us by, we have to continue to put our foot on their necks."
