Black Panther actress Lupita Nyong'o has led the touching tributes to Chadwick Boseman, as the actor is remembered one year after his sad death.

Boseman passed away on August 28, 2020 at the age of 43 after a private battle with stage IV colon cancer, having first been diagnosed with the illness in 2016.

Following his passing, Boseman received countless tributes from family, colleagues and fans, and Nyong'o, who plays Nakia in Black Panther, has marked the one year anniversary of his death with a heartfelt post on Instagram.

The actress has shared a photo of the two standing in an empty corridor laughing and smiling at each other and accompanied it with a powerful caption about her memories of her friend.

"I did not know that I could miss both his laughter and his silence in equal measure. I do. I do..." she wrote. "One year after his passing, the memory of @chadwickboseman remains this alive in me."

Following the actor's passing last year, Nyong'o was one of many actors to pay tribute to Boseman, whose role as King T'Challa / Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was described as "the honor of his career" by his family.

Shortly after his death, Nyong'o described his loss as a "punch to my gut every morning", saying that he had "a profound effect" on her in the short time that they had known each other.

Nyong'o is not the only star to have shared her thoughts on the anniversary of Boseman's passing, with Mark Ruffalo and Michael B Jordan also among those paying tribute to him:

Fans recently saw the actor take on his final role in the form of an animated version of T'Challa in Disney+ series What If...? with his episode exploring what could have happened if Yondu had taken T'Challa as a child rather than Peter Quill and T'Challa had gone on to become Star Lord.
