Blade Runner 2049 trailer is on its way
‘Blade Runner’ fans, the time is coming.
According to reports, the first trailer for the long-awaited sequel will arrive before the end of the year.
The website Trailer Track (via Den of Geek) says that as of yesterday, classification body Consumer Protection BC has officially approved and rated a trailer for ‘Blade Runner 2049’, and it runs at just over a minute-and-a-half.
It’s thought that it will be attached to the Sony sci-fi ‘Passengers’, starring Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence.
So far there’s been very little revealed about the sequel, which comes some 34 years since Ridley Scott’s revered 1982 original.
Denis Villeneuve is behind the camera this time (Scott is producing), and the legendary Roger Deakins is on cinematography detail.
And with the original movie set in 2019 (no flying cars just yet), this movie will be set 25 years later instead.
And that’s more or less all we know for now, other than Harrison Ford is reprising his role as replicant catcher/replicant Rick Deckard, alongside Ryan Gosling, Robin Wright, Jared Leto, Sylvia Hoeks, Lenny James and Dave Bautista.
The original movie saw Deckard tracking down a group of escaped, genetically enhanced humanoids, based on Philip K. Dick’s novella Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep.
‘Blade Runner 2049’ is out in October, 2017.
