The Dark Knight Rises news: Batman goes viral

'The Dark Knight Rises' viral marketing campaign is up and running after mysterious documents surfaced online.

Warner Bros. have released a pair of leaked "CIA documents" referring to a nuclear physicist called Dr. Leonid Pavel. The first shows a mug shot of actor Alon Aboutboul, who plays Pavel in 'The Dark Knight Rises'.

The second is a redacted transcript between the CIA and a militia soldier discussing asylum for the doctor, who fears for his life. Is villain Bane after him?

The campaign mirrors the phenomenally successful "Why so serious?" viral marketing campaign used for 'The Dark Knight', which expertly teased the appearance of Heath Ledger's Joker.

There will doubtless be more clues hidden around the net. We expect some kind of tease about the six-minute IMAX prologue sequence - which will play played before some screenings if 'Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol' - to emerge soon.

This footage can only be seen at five UK locations - Bradford's National Media Museum, Glasgow's Science Centre, London's BFI IMAX, London's Science Museum and Manchester's ODEON IMAX.
