Pointless Prometheus trailer debuts
"New Prometheus teaser arrives!" reads the excited headline. "Oh boy oh boy", shouts the inner geek of many a fan of Ridley Scott and the 'Alien' franchise.
"All this writing can wait; I just want to see the new footage! I wonder if the Space Jockey is in it... oh boy oh boy oh... ohh... what's this? It's exactly the same as the last one! Booo! Hisss! Etc!"

And so on. The supposed new trailer for the hugely anticipated 'Alien' prequel shows no new footage, only removing the title that gradually appeared across the screen of the original.
It's not unusual for similar trailers to be released with just a glimmer of new footage like 'The Amazing Spider-Man' did yesterday, but those are typically international trailers and at least offer the smallest of glimpses of something new.
We live in a world where trailers get trailers and announcements get their own announcements. It drags the process of getting a film, album or game out much further than is necessary for the sake of making saturating the market.
But ho hum. 'Prometheus' still looks cracking, and below we've lined up both trailers so you can make your own decision. With titles or without? Yeah, you're right, it doesn't matter.
Enjoy!
