Plot synopsis revealed for Spider-Man sequel

Some new plot details for the sequel to 'The Amazing Spider-Man' have been released.

Though hardly an exhaustive synopsis, it gives some new detail to the plans for 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2', due out in May, 2014.

It reads:

“In The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough.

“Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.”

It's also now confirmed that Paul Giamatti will appear, but there are no details about his role.

It was leaked last week that he was being eyed to play villain The Rhino.

'Thor' star Colm Feore is also confirmed as a cast-member.

Meanwhile, director Marc Webb has been tweeting pictures from the set in New York, one featuring Oscorp aparatus of some kind and another which seems to show a film camera being used, suggesting that at least some of the movie is being shot in film rather than digital, unusual for what will be an visual effects-laden project.
