Boy, 15, arrested after two girls stabbed on their way to school

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested after two teenage girls were stabbed on their way to school in two separate attacks.

The teen was arrested in the early hours of Sunday (November 8) in Croydon, south London, after the attacks on Wednesday and Friday.

In the first, a 15-year-old girl was approached by a stranger and stabbed in the leg in Moffat Road, Croydon, just before 9am. She was taken to hospital where her condition was confirmed as not life threatening.

Two days later another girl, also 15, was approached by a stranger on St Paul’s Road, Croydon, just before 8.30am and stabbed in the arm.

She was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital where her condition was also deemed not life threatening.

The victims both go to separate schools and it is not thought they are known to each other, the Met Police said.

The force said a 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of two counts of GBH in connection with the incidents.

He was arrested at a residential address and taken into custody at a south London police station.
