'Happy, healthy, beautiful boy' aged seven dies after falling ill at school

A seven-year-old boy who died suddenly after suffering a short illness at school has been described as a “happy, healthy, beautiful boy”.

Patryk Milner died last Thursday after he fell ill at Offley Primary Academy in Sandbach, Cheshire.

He was a member of Sandback RUFC’s under-8s team and loved sport. His parents, Andy and Aggie, are well-known in the community as their business is based at the rugby club.

Patryk’s father said: ”He was a sporty, beautiful, healthy boy who loved rugby at Sandbach RUFC and karate, swimming, golf, cycling, rollerblading - everything.

"He was about to start football at Sandbach United. He liked eating out and adored dogs and he wanted to be a vet.

"Thanks to everyone for their flowers, cards, kind words and comments on social media, especially the Sandbach RUFC family.

"This is helping us tackle this unbelievable tragedy."

After falling ill at school, Patryk was airlifted to Leighton Hospital in Crewe before being transferred to Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool, where he passed away.

In a statement, Offley Primary Academy said: "The school community are devastated by the death of Patryk, it has rocked us all deeply.

"He was such a happy, healthy, beautiful boy from a supportive, loving family who are the heartbeat of the Sandbach community.

"The circumstances are tragic - he came to school on Wednesday a happy, healthy boy and did not return home.

"We will now ensure that we put our arms around the family and support them with all of our love.”

Sandbach RUFC chairman Rob Mayor said: "We will never forget the image of his bright and energetic face.

"A dark cloud will hang over both the club and school for a very long time.

"Our hearts go out to the family and, as a club, we will do everything that we can to support them both now and in the future."
