Bradley Cooper, Taylor Schilling Will Present On Tony Telecast – But What About Tommy Tune?

Cooper, a Tony nominee for his title performance in a hit revival of The Elephant Man, and Schilling, the Orange Is The New Black star who braved off-Broadway in a revival of Ivan Turgenyev’s A Month In The Country, have joined the roster of presenters for the 69th annual Tony Awards. The shebang will be broadcast by CBS live from Radio City Music Hall on June 7, 8-11 PM. Alan Cumming and nominee Kristin Chenoweth (On The Twentieth Century) are the hosts.

Former and, no doubt, future Tony host Neil Patrick Harris is on board, along with Jim Parsons, Amanda Seyfried, Ashley Tisdale, Bryan Cranston, Joe Manganiello, Kiefer Sutherland, Anna Chlumsky, Larry David, Jason Alexander, Misty Copeland, Sting, Corey Stoll, David Hyde Pierce, Debra Messing, Jennifer Nettles, Marg Helgenberger, Rita Wilson, Rose Byrne, Thomas Sadoski, Sutton Foster, Taye Diggs and Bobby Cannavale.

Long, tall Broadway royal and quadruple threat (director-choreographer-leading man-hoofer) Tommy Tune also has been enlisted to present, though there’s still no word as to whether he will be allowed to accept his own special Tony for Lifetime Achievement (following a mere nine plain old regular medallions over the years) on the broadcast. A grass-roots movement has grown up around the Times Square asphalt to convince CBS chief Les Moonves that the inimitable Tune be allowed to have his say, or song, or whatever, on the air. A duet with Twiggy, Tune’s My One And Only co-star, or Keith Carradine, the still-truckin’ star of Tune’s Tony-winning Will Rogers Follies, would be pretty great.
