It’s February, which means Black History Month is in full swing. In addition to everyday people doing their part to support Black-owned businesses and creators, brands both large and small are also honoring the moment.
From charitable contributions to limited-edition merchandise created in partnership with Black artists, check out how eight brands are doing their part to celebrate Black History.
Nordstrom has several initiatives aimed at addressing diversity and equity. Not only is the department store donating one million dollars to organizations that promote anti-racism by 2025, but they’ve also pledged to drive $500 million in retail sales to Black and Latinx-owned and operated brands by the same year. As a result of this commitment, you can shop Black-owned brands like Uoma Beauty, Renowned LA, Briogeo and more at Nordstrom right now.
Gap recently unveiled a collection of T-shirts designed by artists within their community. The tees feature designs that pay homage to Black history and celebrate the future.
Additionally, Gap Inc. is donating $200,000 to the 15 Percent Pledge, the non-profit that challenges retailers to make space for Black business owners and creators.

As an extension of their My Story Matters campaign with Jaden Smith and Coco Gauff, New Balance also partnered with Black employees to create the My Story Matters Tee and other inspiring merch.
Etsy connects thousands of creators, artisans and small business owners to the world. With this in mind, the digital marketplace spotlights Black-owned shops that offer everything from clothing and jewelry to home decor and candles this month.
Luxury silk accessories brand LILYSILK is donating 5% of all sales to Black Lives Matter through Monday, Feb. 22.

Old Navy teamed up with artist Reyna Noriega on a limited-edition, exclusive tee in honor of Black History Month.
Old Navy is also making a one million dollar donation to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America as well as a $100K donation to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada.
shopDisney worked with four emerging artists to create exclusive products inspired by Disney and Pixar’s hit movie Soul.
Personal care brand Oh.So will donate 10% of profits throughout February to Black Girls Code. Because of their programming, this non-profit empowers girls of color to innovate in STEM fields.
