Yahoo Movies Bridgerton's Phoebe Dynevor says there are no good roles for women her age
Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor has said there currently aren't many good film and TV roles for women her age.
The actress, who played Daphne in the first two seasons of the hit Netflix period drama, said during an interview with The Standard that there are more opportunities for young men than for young women in the industry.
"I probably shouldn't be saying this, but there is still, like, not that many parts going," she said. "There is such a space for male actors… there are so many of them. And they're all great. They're all very talented young men, they do not stop working, and good for them.

"But you know, when I think about the girls my age… there's way more room for them and there is still not enough room for us. It's a really good time for older women which is amazing and there's a lot for these young men, but not a lot for the actresses that I know in my age bracket."
Dynevor, who is one of the nominees for the EE Rising Star Award at this month's BAFTAs, said that in the future she would like to work behind the camera to create more of these roles for young actresses.
"I eventually want to produce," she stated. "I would like to create the material that I feel is missing. I don't know when that will be, but it's a dream of mine."

While Dynevor won't appear in the third season of Bridgerton, she recently starred in Netflix financial thriller Fair Play, which follows a young woman trying to navigate a competitive industry.
In the same interview, she said of the role: "It felt like my story, and it felt like every woman I know's story. Whether it's working in a very male-dominated environment or having a relationship with someone who's threatened by you, all of those things that women deal with all the time."
Fair Play is currently streaming on Netflix. Bridgerton seasons 1-2 are also streaming now on Netflix, along with Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. Season 3 premieres in two parts, on May 16 and June 13.
