The new Bridget Jones movie, ‘Bridget Jones’s Baby’, has filmed three endings, with even the cast of the film not knowing how it will end.

The real ending will only be revealed at the movie’s premiere, in an attempt to keep the plot twist under wraps.

In the movie, Renee Zellweger’s hapless London diarist has a baby, but does not know who the father is.

She told the Sunday Express: “It’s kind of brilliant. None of the cast knows who fathered Bridget’s baby or who she’ll choose as her beau.

“The plan is to keep us all in the dark, right up to the premiere.”

Colin Firth will return as Mark Darcy, Bridget’s on-again, off-again love interest, with Patrick Dempsey’s character Mark Qwant now thrown in to the mix.

The last movie, ‘Bridget Jones: Edge of Reason’, emerged in 2004, with the first in the series – an adaptation of Helen Fielding’s best-selling novel – released in 2001.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly about her character, she said: “She’s a bit more mature and has moved on, as we all have.”

However, she added that ditzy Jones hasn’t changed all that much.

'I think that’s her essence, really. All of us do things in our personalities that we don’t outgrow.’

“I like that she tells what it’s like to be a woman in these really relatable situations. It’s so right to tell a story about Bridget in this stage of her life.”

The script has been penned by Fielding, David Nicholls, who wrote the book 'One Day’, and Emma Thompson.

It’s due out on April 22.
