Brilliant 60-second hack makes wearing a face mask infinitely less annoying — and more effective

A dentist shared an ingenious hack to make a regular old face mask fit better and work more effectively.

Canadian dentist Dr. Olivia Cui, DMD, shared a video of the trick to TikTok, where it has garnered more than 3 million views.

She folded the mask in half lengthwise, tied a knot in each strap close to the mask, unfolded it, then tucked the opening in underneath the ear loops.

When she finished, she put on the mask, which looked much more rounded, and it fit snuggly over her face.

“You will see that it’s nice and fitted to my face all around,” Cui said.

She recommended this hack for anyone with a smaller head — though it works well if you’ve got a big head and a bigger mask. I can confirm.

Other users expressed their amazement in the comments.

“Wait this is so helpful thank you for sharing!!” one said.

“Me and my pea head thank you!!” another wrote.
