A young British woman was strangled in front of her baby daughter during a violent robbery in Greece.

Three robbers burst into their family house in Athens on Tuesday, killing the 20-year-old mother and tying up her pilot husband.

The hooded men also killed the family’s pet dog while the husband, 33, survived.

Their dog was left hanging on the fence of their suburban home in Glyka Nera, police said.

Officers confirmed that the mother was born in Greece but had a British passport.

Thieves made off with money and jewellery after murdering the woman in front of her 11-month old baby.

Greeks are used to gangland killings but the strangling of the woman in front of her child has shocked the region.

Proto Thema website reported on the “Horror at Glyka Nera” which has left the area shaken.
