Bruce Willis Action Film ‘Wake’ Revived After Financial Shortfall

Financing problems that shut down production of action-thriller “Wake,” starring Bruce Willis, have been resolved and the film will resume shooting in Cleveland in two weeks.

“The Greater Cleveland Film Commission is happy to announce that the film ‘Wake’ has started up again and will resume principle photography on March 23, 2015. Welcome back!” said Ivan Schwarz, president of the commission, in a statement.

International Film Trust had introduced the project to international buyers last month at the Berlin Film Festival. CAA is representing U.S. rights.

John Pogue is directing from a script by Chris Borrelli. Producers are Michael Benaroya of Benaroya Pictures, Tobin Armbrust, David Alpert and Chris Cowles.

Willis is portraying a sociopath who returns to his childhood home on a remote island for his brother’s wake. When the island comes under siege, he must save the family that banished him from his ancestral home years ago.

Ben Kingsley is also starring.
