Bryce Dallas Howard Promises ‘No Heels’ In Jurassic World 2

Bryce Dallas Howard has revealed that one of the major talking points of ‘Jurassic World’ will definitely NOT feature in the upcoming sequel.

The actress who played Jurassic World’s operating manager told Yahoo Movies that Claire Dearing would be ditching the high heels for ‘Jurassic World 2′.

“Here’s what I can tell you about ‘Jurassic World 2′ officially,” the 35-year-old shared while promoting her new film ‘Pete’s Dragon’.

“There’s no heels. There’s NO HEELS. [Which is fantastic] for me more than anyone else. It’s the best news I’ve gotten all year.”

Much of the conversation around 2015′s ‘Jurassic World’ weirdly centred on Bryce’s character and her amazing ability to run away from dinosaurs in high heels. Many felt this would be implausible - IN A MOVIE ABOUT REAL LIFE DINOSAURS - with one site calling Claire “Jurassic World’s Silliest Character”.

Later in the year, Howard seemed to put the controversy to bed explaining to us why it was right for Claire to stay in heels and not switch to something more comfortable, saying: “I don’t think she would carry around flats with her. I think she’s somebody who could sprint a marathon in heels.”

Now it seems the filmmakers are distancing themselves from this sartorial faux-pas and will provide more dinosaur-friendly footwear this time around.

She added that the sequel, directed by JA Bayona, would be an “extension” of the first film and would take the characters into “the next stage of their lives”.

Elsewhere, Bryce talked about the message of her new film ‘Pete’s Dragon’ (in cinemas Friday) explaining that Disney films are powerful because they’re not afraid to tackle the darker side of life. Watch the rest of our interview below.
