C-3PO Has A Red Arm In Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Promotional material found in Mexico for ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ seems to show that everybody’s second favourite (soon to be third favourite) droid will have a red arm in JJ Abrams forthcoming sci-fi adventure.

The art seen on a drinks can shows Threepio with trusted sidekick R2-D2 and BB-8, the latest addition to the 'Star Wars’ cast of robots and already a fan-favourite.

Why does C-3PO have a red arm? Well we imagine after all these years he’s been torn apart and destroyed so often that the galaxy’s supply or gold paint or plating has simply run dry - leaving the stuck up droid with a red arm he probably doesn’t have a whole lot of time for.

There’s a chance the merchandise is bootlegged, but if that were the case, why even bother colouring Threepio’s arm a different colour?  In May, Jedi News spotted images of 'Star Wars’ merchandise that also depicts Threepio with the red arm.

C-3PO has been absent from any trailers of official artwork so far, whereas we have seen Han Solo, Chewbacca, R2-D2, Luke Skywalker (his hand at least) and Princess Leia (her hand at least). Anthony Daniels will reprise his role as the droid in the new film, making him the only actor to have been in every 'Star Wars’ movie to date.

'Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ will be released on 18 December.
