Carey Mulligan has won another award for Promising Young Woman on this year's awards circuit, with the actress dedicating her latest achievement to the late Helen McCrory.

Carey, who won best female lead at yesterday's (April 22) Independent Spirit Awards, paid tribute to the Peaky Blinders star following her tragic death last week. Helen, whose death was announced by her husband Damian Lewis, passed away at the age of 52.

During her acceptance speech for the award, Mulligan said that McCrory was "an actress that I have looked up to and will continue to look up to for the rest of my career".

The news of Helen McCrory's sad death was confirmed last week. She was known for her extensive career, including Aunt Polly in Peaky Blinders, Narcissa Malfoy in the Harry Potter films, and Cherie Blair in The Queen.

In a touching statement, her husband Damian Lewis confirmed that Helen had passed away "after a heroic battle with cancer".
