Zverev, meantime, is coming off an emphatic five-set win over Jannik Sinner, where he found his form despite being subjected to racist language from a spectator. The German star also holds a 3-2 advantage in head-to-head meetings, though he’ll be the underdog against Alcaraz tonight.
The winner of the Alcaraz vs. Zverev match will meet Russian Daniil Medvedev in the U.S. Open semifinals Friday. Medvedev took down compatriot Andrey Rublev in straight sets in Wednesday’s other quarterfinal match.
