Carrie Fisher Takes Break From Star Wars 8 To Meet Her Princess Leia Waxwork

Carrie Fisher was reunited with her nemesis earlier today while visiting Madame Tussauds London’s Star Wars experience, and no, we’re not talking about Jabba The Hutt.

We’re talking about that infamous Slave Leia costume, the gold bikini that Fisher once described as: “what supermodels will eventually wear in the seventh ring of hell”.

The 59-year-old actress was taking in the sights during some well-earned time off from filming ‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’ here in London when she came face to face with her likeness, which is based on her character’s appearance in 1983′s ‘Return of the Jedi’.

The revealing costume has often drawn criticism and it was recently revealed that Disney was starting to phase the look out from ‘Star Wars’ marketing materials.

In October 2015 the original costume sold at auction for an eye-watering £63,000 although it’s unlikely the bidder would ever want to don the bikini themselves as it’s famously difficult to wear.

“I had to tape them [my breasts] down, because there’s no underwear in space. George [Lucas, creator] knows that for a fact,” Fisher once said.

“When I laid down, the metal bikini stayed up. So Boba Fett could see all the way to Florida.”

Fisher was accompanied at Madame Tussauds by her French bulldog Gary, whose tongue was wagging at the site of Jabba, Salacious Crumb, and Princess Leia.

Gary became a star in his own right during the press tour for ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ and he even has his own parody Twitter account.
